Historic Sunday

We belong to the National Trust, but don't use it half as much as we should do.  We decided to visit Melford Hall today in Long Melford, just a short distance from home.  The house was fascinating and had previously been visited by Beatrix Potter who was a cousing of the Parker family that lived there.  In the gatehouse a gentleman was demonstrating water colour painting of Beatrix Potter characters.  We watched him painting Jemima Puddleduck and hehn purchased his picture.  I wish I could have a talent like that.

We also visited the village of Lavenham where there  is a beautiful church. The stain glass windows were amazing.
